I have decided to make a little Christmas list outlining areas my company can improve on for 2010. Every time I create a list with new goals and ideas I get a twinkle in my eye.
I almost get too exited about doing much better with my business web marketing next
year. I know allot of us are struggling with the economic crisis
especially in the hosting market. All the Go Daddy’s and Host Monsters
are giving people a way size down their budgets to cope with the cold
season. I for one get irritable when I see my competitors totally
undercutting the market. It does not seem to help anyone and in turn
totally messes with the worth of our hosting businesses and hosting
services. Remember that this crisis is only the long awaited struggle
we need to push us to grow and improve with our businesses.
- Instead of cutting prices this next coming year, I have decided to perfect my message. I don't want a bag full of seriously grumpy penny pinching clients wasting my valuable time in 2009. I want to go after a new species of client. Clients that have been burned by these vary low balling providers could be great targets.
-
Get your claws into some social marketing circles. I have been setting up accounts left and right with Social sites like LinkedIn.com, Squidoo.com, Wordpress.com and variety of others. These are great for pulling my blog posts and displaying them on other channels. Getting involved and working it well takes a great deal of time and effort but the payout can be substantial. I am just new to it but I can already see it’s potential. Once you have your blog's RSS feeds setup though these portal sites you only have to post once and you have your updates posted to all of them.
- Improve on the look, feel and functionality of your hosting service websites .
- Use your hidden sales force (Current Clients) and implement an informational newsletter that reminds them what a great hosting provider you have been to them over the years.
- Improve on the usability of your control panel access, billing systems and support documentation.
- Offer a little Christmas bonuses to all your current clients. Give them a reason to want to keep using your services. Offer 3 months of free hosting for every converted referral. make it easy for them to get referrals signed up.
- Above all have fun with your hosting company , give it a personality, brand it better and above all pat yourself on the back, these are difficult times and if you have come this far you have already accomplished something great.
